Retriever test We started practising for the retriever
test when Nekku was a puppy. She has always been very keen on game
but there were occasional problems with deliveries and, in particular,
with the rabbit. However, Nekku passed the test on her first try in
June 2002 at the age of two years and two months. After that we have
been practising retrieving occasionally for our own enjoyment.
Shows It has been a pleasure going to shows with Nekku,
as she really enjoys being in the ring. Nekku got two CC's in the
intermediate class and in August 2002 (after having her first puppies)
the required third CC came in the working class, so Nekku became Finnish
Champion. Nekku has two CACIBs from Finland and in April 2006, Nekku
got the CACIB required for the title of international champion from
Sweden. The title was confirmed by FCI in October.
Obedience We competed twice in obedience level 1 in the autumn
of 2001 and received two first prizes. Then we had a long break from competing
and did not take part in a trial until in May 2004. Nekku got her third first
prize and the title TK1. In Autumn 2005 we attended three level 2 trials and got
first prizes from each of them, so Nekku gained the title TK2 as well.
Blood tracking Nekku tried blood tracking for the first time at the
age of two years and she really seemed to enjoy it. We entered our first blood
tracking trial in the spring of 2003 and got a second prize. In the spring of
2004 Nekku received the first prize for the first time and in the summer we
received another first prize, so Nekku was transferred to the winner class.
Agility We started doing agility when living in Central Finland
but after moving to the capital area, we did not at first get a place in a
training group. In the spring of 2004 we finally managed
to get one. Agility is a fun sport for both Nekku and me, so we're going to keep
training it, although not very regularly.
